I have just bought a set of 4 dpns and they are the best I have ever had...they feel like bone...are bone coloured...made in new zealand..and have unusual shaped points.
They are so smooth to use and the yarn just slips along..Beauties

Are they the Liteflex needles? - I have some of those too, and I do love the points, but my favourites are the good old aeros! Which are not so easy to find these days, now that Lincraft has stopped selling them.

Cheesy I am knitting the Central Park Hoodie Cool  on a pair of metal needles that were given to me by my Nanna 12 years ago and they had been used by one of my Aunties! They could be up to 45 years old!!!!!
I am using these because I couldn't find the 5mm needles  I thought I had !
They are  abit short but are really lovely to use !
My usual favs are the metal 2.75 or 3.25mm sock needles because although the fexible needles ae better for my hands I am a bit hard on them so they have to be strong and not to much in giving! cheesy

I like most needles but for versatility, I use Denise.

The bone DPNs sound great. Can you get them in Aus?
I use the cheapies and no worries - nothing to compare them to though.
I use addi circs and Aero and whatever I can get my hands on. Mum hasn't knitted for a while soI "took' her needles.

Don't you mean 'borrowed on a permanent basis and she'll never see those again'?? grin

All this talk of knitting needles is sending me into a giddy spin! It's intoxicating!

I can see I will have to investigate the modern knitting needle market more intensely.
