I have happened across a pattern (although crochet) that calls for a wool called Villawool Banlon.  I have heard of this wool but have no idea what ply it is so a substitute can be used.  The pattern would be 25-30 years old and is a Barbie Doll outfit of Queen Elizabeth.  The crotchet hook called for is a size 15 and help in this area would be appreciated as well as my conversion only goes to a size 14 (2.00mm).  Can anyone help my? I would like to make this for my neice for Christmas as she is Barbie mad!

Hi there

I have just run a search on the web to find the yarn you are after, but no matches seem to come up, so it must be discontinued.  Is there a tension/gauge that the pattern gives, as this will help in determining a good substitute yarn.
